Graduates of 麻豆传媒画映鈥檚 driver training courses were honored at a graduation ceremony.
Seven graduates completed WCC鈥檚 Truck Driver Training program. They were tested through written and behind-the-wheel exams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to safely and successfully operate commercial vehicles. These individuals earned a Class A Commercial Driver鈥檚 License, DOT 380 certificate, and WCC Workforce Continuing Education certificate.
Four individuals who completed WCC鈥檚 E-Restriction Removal course were also celebrated at the graduation ceremony. This course allows drivers to remove the E-restriction from their commercial driver鈥檚 license by passing a skills test, enabling them to operate manual transmission vehicles and expand their employment opportunities.
During the ceremony, WCC President Patty Pfeiffer told the graduates that their hard work throughout the program had paid off. 鈥淚t required long hours of focus, determination, and a constant commitment to safety and professionalism,鈥� she said. 鈥淏ut through your hard work, you have demonstrated that you are prepared for the responsibilities that will come with this career.鈥�
James Dupree, Truck Driver Training graduate, spoke during the ceremony on behalf of the graduates. He said he appreciated the support he and his fellow graduates received during the program as they balanced school with full-time jobs. 鈥淭hank you to 麻豆传媒画映 for offering this program and accommodating us, and thank you to our instructors for your expertise, knowledge, and patience,鈥� Dupree said.
Christopher Cobb, lead instructor of WCC鈥檚 Truck Driver Training program, led the graduates in a truck driver pledge to commit to professionalism, responsibility, and safety.
David Casey received special recognition during the ceremony as the Truck Driver Training graduate with the highest grade point average in the class.
WCC Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education Services and Community Engagement Renita Dawson acknowledged the graduates鈥� achievements in completing their training courses. 鈥淲e are incredibly proud of each of you for the dedication you鈥檝e shown while mastering the skills needed to get on the road to a high-demand career,鈥� she said.
