North Carolina Lt. Gov. Rachel Hunt visited 麻豆传媒画映 on Monday, May 18, as part of her Future-Ready North Carolina tour.
Hunt was joined by WCC President Patty Pfeiffer and other college leaders, the WCC Board of Trustees, and local elected officials for a campus tour.

Governor Rachel Hunt on campus as part of her Future-Ready North Carolina tour,鈥� said Pfeiffer. 鈥淲e are grateful for the time she spent learning more about our academic and workforce preparedness programs that lead to successful careers in our region and across the state.鈥�
The tour began at WCC鈥檚 Deacon Jones Automotive Center, where its Automotive Systems Technology and Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology programs are housed. Through its partnerships with local dealerships, WCC provides hands-on training opportunities for students to learn techniques on high-quality equipment they will work with in the industry.
The lieutenant governor also visited WCC鈥檚 newest building, the Center for Industrial Technology and Engineering (CITE), which is home to many programs in the College鈥檚 Applied Technologies division. Students in these programs prepare for high-tech jobs that are essential to Wayne County鈥檚 economic development.
To conclude the tour, the group explored the nursing simulation lab in WCC鈥檚 Pine Building, which is currently undergoing renovations to accommodate anticipated enrollment growth. The building expansion project will allow more nursing students on campus, ultimately helping to address the statewide nursing shortage.
The lieutenant governor鈥檚 campus tour was part of an initiative to highlight how North Carolina鈥檚 community colleges support workforce development.
Through her , Hunt will visit all 58 community colleges across the state, allowing her to hear directly how the state can better support their work and highlight their strong programs.
